Spare me if I give you more than one moment-
1)Believing in Joginder Sharma:
Pakistan needed 13 runs in last over. During a break, we all were thinking that he will ask Harbhajan Singh to bowl that over. But to our surprise, Joginder Sharma was holding a bowl. I still remember my dad’s comment.
“Abey! Ye kyu kia isne?”
“Damn! Why he did this?”
According to me, a true intention or belief doesn’t need to be spoken. It will be evident through your actions. India won the first ever edition of T20 world cup!
Thank you CAPTAIN for giving us almost a heart attack!
2)Giving trophies to youngsters:
From the very first day since I am watching Dhoni playing as a captain, I never saw him holding a trophy. He simply gave it away. Be it T20 world cup or champions trophy.
Thank you CAPTAIN for espousing selflessness!
3)Hitting a six in the finals:
After experiencing barrenness for 28 years, Dhoni gave us a reason to smile by finishing off in style. That helicopter shot will be last thing I wish to see before I die. I will wear it like a badge of honor for the rest of my life.
Thank you CAPTAIN for a world cup after 28 years!
4)Scoring 12 runs in 2 balls:
Wait! What? Nobody could win this. But if you have Dhoni as a team member, nothing to lose! It was a match between Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab. RPS needed 12 runs in 2 balls. Dhoni was on strike and yet again he hit two straight sixes to win that match.
Thank you CAPTAIN for such consistency every time!
5)Crazy Stumping and run outs:
Dhoni is no less than a magician. Against Bangladesh, he just did whole Joginder Sharma incident once again. He called Hardik Pandya to bowl the last over. Bangladesh was almost a winner. But there is a saying, “Overconfidence will drown you in the sea of reality”. Bangladesh lost that match because Dhoni played sensibly and amazingly.
Thank you CAPTAIN for being a magician!
Am I missing something out here? Yes! There are several cricket moments, I am going to keep in my chamber of memories. But there is one thing, I don’t want to see in the life of any captain.
This!
He had teary eyes after losing in 2015 world cup. It brought tears in my eyes. I don’t want to see a captain going through this again!
Thank you CAPTAIN M S DHONI! World will remember you for carving beautiful memories.
